We spent the last two days in Dubai on a long layover and are happy to have reliable internet connection again. We did our best to see as many of the impressive things in Dubai as we could – gold and spice souks, enormous malls that have indoor aquariums, skating rinks, ski slopes, waterfalls and fountains. We also celebrated Brent’s birthday by going to the top of the world’s tallest building and having a seven course tea at the world’s most luxurious hotel.
Birthday tea at the Burj Al Arab, the worlds only 7 star hotel:
Birthday sunrise at the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building:
-Sears tower is on the far left of the scale:
Fun at the malls: Olympic skating rinks, indoor ski slopes and aquarium:
How many birthdays are you having?
WOW!!!!! What a fantastic place to be 🙂
Looks like a great trip so far!! Hope it is everything you expected and more! 🙂
And Happy Bday!
Thanks Josh, we are seeing so much! Pretty soon you leave for your trip, I hope you get awesome weather!
Hey Maureen is back and she has a cold. I told her to not come near me because when I get sick it’s turrrrrible haha! Liked the Dubai pictures, it’s such a strange culture in the middle-east but def worth a visit. I used to fly over the two palm islands over Dubai going towards Doha, Qatar probably every other day for like 6 months. It kind of feels like home seeing some of your photos….brings back good memories. Hope you guys are still having a blast! Excited to see the upcoming photos..take care and continued safe travels! -Matt
Matt – how cool that you use to fly over the palms! It’s amazing that they made those and you are one of the few who got to see it in person. Even from the tall buildings we went in we couldn’t get a good view
Thanks for sharing your birthday pictures with us. What an amazing experience you are having. 🙂 Please bring the magic back to Michigan when you return.
Thanks Terri
